Are you studying design and need some help?

I’m offering tutoring services to people who are studying graphic design and may be in need of some assistance.

Do you feel like you’re falling behind in your studies? Are the lecturers/teachers at your study institution maybe not the right fit for you or don’t seem to have time for you?

There could be a few things I could help you with, such as:

  • getting around the programs (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • reading & understanding a design brief (e.g. help with a specific project that you might be having trouble with)
  • thinking differently about how to achieve things (e.g. design-thinking, even something like layouts & structure for a logo)
  • website design & development (e.g. using platforms such as WordPress)
  • understanding some website coding languages (e.g. HTML and CSS)
  • ways of mainstreaming processes and making file handling easier (e.g. understanding Master Pages, Paragraph Styles, and more, which really help especially for large projects)

If there’s anything that you can think of that I haven’t listed above, let me know what you need and I’ll see if it’s something I can help with!

Method

Depending on your location, we may be able to meet in person so that we can sit side-by-side.

Otherwise, we can organise online calls using numerous different platforms such as Skype (great for screen-sharing as well so that we can see what each other sees on the computer).

We can work in hourly sessions, or if time allows we can work to a block of 2 or 3 hours.

It would be beneficial if you came to the sessions with a plan in mind of what you wish to achieve.

Rates

I offer a half-hour (30 minute) no-obligation consultation for us to have a chat and see if this is the right pathway for you. We can talk about what you feel you need the most help with and what you would ultimately like to get out of our sessions.

I will also use this consultation time to assess if I’m the right person to help you. If I feel that your requirements are outside of my scope, I will let you know and see if I can recommend any alternatives for you.

My rates will vary depending on location/method of contact and your requirements. Payment is required during/before each session commences.

Feel free to get in contact and we’ll see what we can do to help you make the most of your study!

Why Choose Me?

I’ve studied and worked in graphic design for about 10 years, across multiple institutions and agencies. I grew up using computers and taught myself numerous digital skills from a young age. I’ve worked extensively with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) and various other programs. I am also experienced with different website building platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, WIX, and Weebly; as well as with coding languages including HTML and CSS.

Please note: I do not have much experience with Adobe After Effects and other such motion graphics or video editing platforms. If you need help with editing video or sound, I’m probably not the right person!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve provided “tech support” to members of my family, friends, and fellow classmates. I have received great feedback saying that I am patient, kind, and can explain things in a way that helps people to understand. I’ve provided assistance during some workshops (with adults and with high school students) at my previous study institution, Design College Australia.

I believe that no question is a stupid question! After all, everyone has to start somewhere, and everyone has different levels of experience and knowledge. My job is to help you get as much out of your study as possible, to help you gain the confidence and understanding to do your work.

If there is anything you’d like help with, use the contact form below to let me know!
